German speaking tutor
Chat, get corrections, check your level and drill pronunciation.
Read a sentence aloud and the tutor scores what it heard against the model, so you can hear where your pronunciation drifts rather than guessing.
What the tutor does
Chat lets you write in German and have your sentences corrected as you go, with the correction shown beside what you wrote. Pronunciation gives you a model sentence to read aloud and scores how close you came. Level check runs a short adaptive test and estimates your CEFR level so you know where to start. Word coach drills the vocabulary you keep getting wrong.
Speech recognition and playback both use your browser, so nothing is uploaded and nothing is recorded. Chrome and Edge support them best; Safari and Firefox are patchier, and speech recognition may be missing entirely there.
Why speaking aloud matters early
Most self-taught learners can read far beyond what they can say, because reading is passive and speaking is not. Saying a sentence out loud engages motor memory that silent reading never touches, and it surfaces the gaps — a verb ending you half-know, a word order you have to stop and assemble — that reading lets you skate over. Ten minutes of reading aloud a day closes that gap faster than any amount of extra vocabulary.
